Family

Alex began pupillage in 2022 under the supervision of Maria Savvides and gained experience in a wide range of family matters, including complex care proceedings. Upon completing his pupillage, Alex joined chambers as a tenant in 2023.

Alex has built a practice in both private law and public law matters, including representing parents accused of harm at findings of fact and contested final hearings in care proceedings. He also regularly represents parties in financial remedy proceedings, TOLATA cases and FLA 1996 applications for injunctions. He recently represented parents in a wardship case heard at the Royal Courts of Justice.

Generally, Alex acts in cases across the Midlands but welcomes instructions in all areas of family law and TOLATA in London, the South West and South East.

Background

Alex originally read English Literature as an undergraduate at the University of Warwick. After a number of years undertaking editorial work in publishing, he studied the GDL at the University of Law in Birmingham. He completed the Bar Practice Course at the same institution in 2021 and was called to the Bar in the same year.




Interests Alex has an avid interest in hedgehogs and spends his time outside of work caring for and rehabilitating them.
