Pupillage
Northampton Chambers looks to regularly offer pupillage as and when the need arises. Chambers is proud of its very high retention rate of pupils into tenancy. In line with the BSB requirements, all pupillages will be advertised on the Pupillage Gateway. Northampton Chambers will process applications in line with the Pupillage Gateway timetable.
“Starting a pupillage can be equal parts daunting and exciting. It is the final, vocational stage for aspiring barristers and entails both a non-practicing period in which you will be shadowing other barristers and a subsequent practicing period in which you will be ‘on your feet’ with your own cases, clients and workload. It is imperative then that the people around you on this journey are supportive, attentive and push you towards success at the bar. Northampton Chambers is full of barristers and staff who are exactly that. Whether it’s the pupil supervisors who are constructive in their criticism and profuse in their praise or the other tenants who are always willing to lend a hand or whether it's the chambers staff who are invaluable in managing your diary and keeping you on track, this chambers feels like a family.”
