It's a family thing.

Tenancy

Northampton Chambers continues to maintain a careful policy towards expansion and is happy to consider applications from established members of the bar. Any such applications, by way of CV and covering letter, should be sent to the Head of Chambers. Any applications will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Focus on Community & Support

Joining Northampton Chambers means becoming part of a close-knit community. "It's a family thing" isn't just a slogan here – it's how we operate. From clerks and pupils to the Head of Chambers, we foster a supportive and collaborative environment. We regularly socialise and enjoy active WhatsApp groups, sharing everything from legal insights to pet pictures. As a tenant, you'll benefit from this strong support network, along with the prestige of being part of Northampton's longest-established chambers (est. 1970s), well-regarded and respected within the local legal profession.

Highlighting Expertise & Leadership

Northampton Chambers offers tenants a unique blend of expertise and a supportive community. We specialize in all facets of family law, from injunctions and international abduction to the core of our practice: private law disputes and care proceedings. Our dynamic and agile leadership, spearheaded by Head of Chambers Miss Maria Savvides, ensures we remain at the forefront of the field. Maria brings nearly 40 years of experience at the Bar and in business, earning her a reputation of utmost respect. Beyond our professional strengths, we cultivate a "family" atmosphere, fostering collaboration and camaraderie among all members.

Location & Practical Advantages

Northampton Chambers provides tenants with the ideal combination of a thriving practice and excellent location. Specialising in all areas of family law, with a strong focus on private law disputes and care proceedings, we offer a diverse and challenging caseload. Our central location, minutes from the M1 and with quick rail links to London and Birmingham, makes us easily accessible for clients and court appearances. As a tenant, you'll also benefit from our supportive and collegial environment. We're a close-knit team, valuing collaboration and mutual support.

Pupillage

Northampton Chambers looks to regularly offer pupillage as and when the need arises. Chambers is proud of its very high retention rate of pupils into tenancy. In line with the BSB requirements, all pupillages will be advertised on the Pupillage Gateway. Northampton Chambers will process applications in line with the Pupillage Gateway timetable.

“Starting a pupillage can be equal parts daunting and exciting. It is the final, vocational stage for aspiring barristers and entails both a non-practicing period in which you will be shadowing other barristers and a subsequent practicing period in which you will be ‘on your feet’ with your own cases, clients and workload. It is imperative then that the people around you on this journey are supportive, attentive and push you towards success at the bar. Northampton Chambers is full of barristers and staff who are exactly that. Whether it’s the pupil supervisors who are constructive in their criticism and profuse in their praise or the other tenants who are always willing to lend a hand or whether it's the chambers staff who are invaluable in managing your diary and keeping you on track, this chambers feels like a family.”

Join our close-knit family of barristers and staff and thrive in a supportive environment. Experience true belonging in our family oriented chambers, dedicated to your success.
