Covid-19 Update

Given the unprecedented circumstances which we are all facing at the moment, I wanted to give some reassurance about our business in the current situation.

Northampton Chambers is committed to providing a continuing service to our professional and lay clients, whilst balancing the safety of our members, staff and those whom we serve.

We will continue to follow the guidance that we are receiving regularly from the Government, the President of the Family Division, the Family Law Bar Association and our regulators, and we assure you that we have fast acting response measures in place in order to deal with the changing situation. We will ensure that contingency measures, such as remote working, are implemented swiftly so as to continue to provide our clients with the representation that they require.

Our aim is to maintain a service to our professional and lay clients and to ensure that as many hearings can proceed as possible. We are particularly mindful of the need to be flexible so as to accommodate hearings and we are in the process of setting up a secure remote access link, in chambers, to enable that to happen.

Please bear with us as we respond to these challenges and please be assured of our continued commitment to the administration of justice.

If you need to visit Chambers in the next few weeks, please ensure that you have followed Government guidelines. Please do not come into Chambers if you are showing any symptoms such as coughing or higher than normal temperature. Please ensure that you have washed your hands before arriving or ask to be shown to the washroom immediately upon arrival. The health and safety of our staff and members is paramount and necessary in order to continue to provide you with the service that you require.

If you require any more information, please email or telephone one of the clerking team who will be happy to help.

Stay healthy everyone.

With warmest wishes,

Maria Savvides
