Gavin accepted tenancy in October 2007 having completed pupillage under the tutelage of Clive Sutton. He has appeared in the Magistrates and Crown Courts for both the prosecution and defence, the County Court in a number of small claims and fast track matters and in the Family Courts, particularly in relation to Childrens Act applications but also in Ancillary Relief proceedings.

Prior to joining the bar Gavin trained as a pilot with the Royal Air Force before spending a number of years working for the Ministry of Defence in Central London. He studied for the bar at the BPP Law School in Holborn having originally obtained a BA Hons Degree in Music and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law.

In his spare time Gavin enjoys playing classical, jazz and popular piano and writing in a range of musical styles. He is also a keen and proficient epee fencer competing on the national circuit and enjoys a number of other sports and fitness activities. Gavin also has an active interest in computing and web design.
